Troop Support Program, Inc. is a non-profit organization that was formed in 2012 for the sole purpose of supporting our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan in the war against terror. Read our full Mission Statement here.
We collect donations and supplies to fill the many Care Packages we send out to the battalions. We ship Care Packages every Tuesday, year round. Pillows, Twin Sheet Sets, Blankets, Towels and Crystal Lite seem to be the items our soldiers cherish the most. We try to provide some of the comforts of home that we may take for granted but our soldiers view as treasures.
We have also joined forces with the Sewing Cyber Sisters who sew handmade pillowcases and send them to us to pack. These Sisters send pillowcases to us from the United States and as far away as England, Canada, and Australia. Our soldiers are always touched by the love that is sewn into each of these special pillowcases we receive and send to them.
Troop Support started out in 2006 as a volunteer program at Dominion Resources, Inc. in Richmond, Virginia. From 2006 to June 2012, Troop Support supported over 15 Battalions as well as the Craig Joint Theater Hospital in Afghanistan. Due to the tremendous interest in the Program from both Dominion employees and volunteers outside the company, we applied for Federal tax-exempt status with the IRS. As of September 26, 2012, we were granted exemption status. Here is the official letter.
Our focus continues to be doing more for our brave soldiers who are making sacrifices for us every day to protect our Country and our freedom. Troop Support Program, Inc. has sent thousands of Care Packages and as you read about us, hopefully you will join with us in our excitement as we expand our troop support operation worldwide! Together with all of YOU, we can increase the amount of support we are currently sending our soldiers from back home and make a larger impact on our soldiers’ morale because of it!! We look forward to hearing from you!
